Florentino Perez has praised Rafa Benitez for pulling off the Real Madrid job “with flying colours” after a promising start to the Coach’s reign.
The President took the opportunity to commend the 55-year-old for his performance to date at an annual event held by club sponsor Audi on Thursday, in which Marca quotes him as saying: “Rafa, you’re pulling this off with flying colours.”
Los Blancos remain unbeaten after 12 games this season, despite chronic injury problems, and have conceded only three goals in that time.
Furthermore, Perez is understood to be even happier with Madrid’s displays against Paris Saint-Germain and Celta Vigo – matches the patron had down as potential banana skins.
The pair are now intent on approaching next week’s international break with the least number of casualties possible.
