Villanovense midfielder Curro is excited at playing Barcelona in the Copa del Rey, particularly as he was on Barca’s books as a youngster.
Curro, full name Francisco Sanchez Curiel, was part of the same generation as goalkeepers Pepe Reina and Victor Valdes, and faces his former club on Wednesday at Villanovense’s Romero Cuerda home.
“We look at this match with great enthusiasm. Everyone wants to play,” he said, AS reports.
“I wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of [Coach] Julio Cobos.
“We have to be realistic and know it will be very difficult to face them. I’d take a draw now, that would be a very nice prize.
“I and we will be concentrated somewhere to prepare for the game.”
