Del Bosque: No more to say on Pique

Vicente Del Bosque has nothing else to say on the Gerard Pique situation. ‘It’s normal that some like what he says and some don’t.’

Del Bosque was appearing at a Press conference in which the question of the whistles directed at the Barcelona defender in the international against Slovakia was raised.

“There’s not a lot more I can add to what the boy said. It’s normal that some like what he said and some don’t,” the Coach commented, AS reports.

“I have to say we’ve never had any complaints from the staff about his behaviour or that of any other player who has come to the national team.

“People come to see the national team, to enjoy the football, and that’s our responsibility, to play well for the people to enjoy.

“We’re very happy [to play Luxembourg in Logrono] and we hope we’ll take the final step for France 2016.

“We have to prepare our best to defend the European Championships next year after winning in Kiev in 2012. We’re still in the qualifiers and it seems like going through is a no-brainer, but it gets more difficult each time.

“We’re almost there but we need to take that step forward against Luxembourg. We’re good and we need to follow the right path.”
