Jemez: Rayo were erratic

Paco Jemez described Rayo Vallecano’s second half in the defeat to Deportivo La Coruna as ‘erratic’ and rued his team’s defensive mistakes.

Deportivo won 3-1 at Vallecas with goals from Celso Borges, Luis Alberto and Lucas Perez, Adrian Embarba netting for the home side, who also had Patrick Ebert dismissed for directing foul and abusive language at the referee.

“Everyone knows I don’t like these things and I’m not going to allow them. I’ll talk to him. It’s a serious mistake,” Jemez said of Ebert’s infraction, AS reports.

“He’s left the team with 10 men and that affects the team.

“The players on the pitch do what I tell them, and if the fans don’t like it they shouldn’t whistle the players. It makes no sense. Whistle me because it doesn’t help.

“But the fans can do whatever they want, they can demonstrate their joy or disappointment however they see fit.

“We have a lot of room for improvement and we have been quite erratic at times in the second half. The first half was good, especially defensively.

“But when we were condemned by defensive errors. When you make so many mistakes, you can’t win.”
