Celta Vigo President Carlos Mourinho has revealed that his club have reached “a verbal agreement” with Barcelona target Nolito over a new contract.
The attacker had been linked with a return to Camp Nou as a replacement for Pedro Rodriguez, but the chances of such a move now appear increasingly unlikely following the patron's latest remarks.
“We have a verbal agreement [with Nolito],” he told Faro de Vigo.
“I think I've already made myself clear on this issue when I said that we hadn't received any offers for him, and I stand by [that statement], it despite what many journalists think.
“I can assure you that at no time was there even the slightest contact with Barcelona and, to our knowledge, Nolito.”
