Jose Ramon Sandoval pointed to mistakes as the reason for Granada’s home defeat to Eibar in La Liga’s opening round.
Granada and Eibar finished off the first weekend of the new season as Los Rojiblancos went down to a 3-1 reverse, ending with 10 men after Salva Ruiz was dismissed early in the second half.
“The game didn’t go as expected. We didn’t start badly but we played the game they wanted,” Sandoval said after the match, AS reports.
“We failed to compete in the first half, when we made two mistakes. They got out of our pressing very easily and we allowed them to get forward when they didn’t allow us.
“At some stages we were good and at others we were horrible. The idea was clear but we were penalised by mistakes.
“Eibar turned out to be perfect, successful at what they wanted to do and were worthy winners.”
