Real Madrid have confirmed that Pepe has extended his contract with the club until 2017.
The defender's contract was due to expire at the end of the coming season, but Los Blancos have moved to offer him an additional year.
News of the Portuguese's renewal comes in quick succession of Sergio Ramos', the latter recently signing on until 2020.
Pepe joined Madrid from Porto for €30m in 2007 and is preparing to begin his ninth season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
