Jose Antonio Reyes denies Sevilla are out to avenge last year’s UEFA Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid in this year’s game against Barcelona.
Sevilla are in their second straight showpiece and Reyes told the Press prior to the fixture that events in Cardiff 12 months ago are not on the minds of the players.
“We intend to play a good game and enjoy it. Last year we had the opportunity and it escaped,” he said, Marca reports.
“But we don’t have the mentality of revenge. It’s a different team, it’s Barcelona.
“Of course, we come here to win. Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world but we’ll try to win, of course. There’s no doubt about that.
“We know the quality they have but both teams start from the bottom. It’s 50-50.”
