Hector Moreno looks like leaving Espanyol, with Fiorentina leading PSV Eindhoven in the race for the €5m defender.
Mundo Deportivo reports the presence of Moreno’s agent, Mino Raiola, in Barcelona this week to discuss the offers with his client.
Moreno is understood to favour Fiorentina as he has played in the Dutch League before and is interested in experiencing a new country.
That’s despite PSV’s interest being stronger and, as a result, offering a more valuable contract to the Mexico international.
Espanyol are willing to let Moreno go as he is in the final year of his contract and could walk away for free in 12 months.
Moreno could see Gerard Moreno on his way out of Espanyol as his namesake is expected to join from Villarreal.
Marco Asensio’s future is up in the air, however, as Real Madrid only want to loan him out until the winter transfer window. Espanyol had been named as a potential destination.
