New Coach for Spain Women

Jorge Vilda has been appointed as the Coach of the Spain Women’s national team after long-serving Ignacio Quereda stepped down.

Quereda held the post for 27 years but was roundly criticised by his players after La Roja struggled at the summer’s World Cup.

Vilda, formerly in charge of the Spain Women’s Under-19s, takes over, beating out Pedro Martinez, Coach of Arsenal Ladies, for the role, according to AS.
