Suarez sympathises with Arda & Vidal

Luis Suarez has admitted that Barcelona new boys Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal are experiencing “strange sensations” due to their ineligibility.

Arda and Vidal are expected to be Barca’s only reinforcements this summer but are nonetheless not allowed to play any matches for the club until their transfer embargo ends in January 2016, and the Uruguayan feels it is a “shame” that they cannot make their mark just yet.

“Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal are very talented players and have demonstrated so at their previous clubs,” he told Barca TV.

“They’ve joined to contribute their bit and it’s a shame that they’ll have to wait until January.

“Acclimatising [when you can’t play] is tough. They’re experiencing a rare and different situation [compared to those they’ve been in before].

“They’re training every day but aware that they can’t play, and [the sensations] become strange.

“They should try [to get used to their surroundings] even if they’re not on the pitch.

“The feeling is good. Our style of play remains the same even though we’re missing players. The most important thing is to start the season quickly.

“[On new forwards possibly arriving if Pedro Rodriguez leaves], we’re well-stocked in that area, but competition is healthy and for the benefit of the team.

“[What surprised me most when I joined was] the humility of the squad, even though there are players who can make the difference.”
