Sevilla new boy Yevhen Konoplyanka has the potential to replicate Eden Hazard and Neymar, according to three of his former Dnipro teammates.
Brazilian trio Matheus, Douglas and Leo Matos are all in agreement that the winger will prove a fine acquisition for the Europa League winners, to the extent that he could light up La Liga in similar fashion to the Barcelona forward and how the Chelsea attacker has impacted on the Premier League.
“Kono has everything to be like [Eden] Hazard or Neymar,” Matheus told Marca.
“He has the ability to do well in La Liga or any other European League. He’s like Hazard or Neymar in that he can decide a match in a second with a spectacular move.”
Matheus’ teammate Douglas added: “[Konoplyanka] will certainly will adapt quickly to Sevilla’s style of play.
“He’s a player who will add a lot of technique and speed to Sevilla’s left wing. With him, they’ll be an even tougher team to beat.
“In addition, he already knows some of the language because he’d try to speak to us [in Spanish] and we’d teach him.
Finally, another of Dnipro’s Brazilian contingent, Leo Matos, concluded: “[He can also create danger] through the fouls he attracts and one-on-one situations, of which he always takes advantage.
“He likes Spain and loves the weather there because he remembers it from a past pre-season.”
