Atletico Madrid have signed midfielder Bernard Mensah from Vitoria Guimares and immediately loaned him to Getafe.
AS reports Atleti beat away competition from Manchester United, Monaco and Valencia for the 20-year-old Ghanaian, with a fee of just under €10m mooted.
Mensah is on a six-year contract and will spend his first 12 months as an Atletico player on the books at Getafe, joining Emiliano Velazquez, another Atletico youngster turning out at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
