‘Perez doesn’t like black players’

Santos Marquez, the agent of Iker Casillas, has suggested that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez “doesn’t like black players”.

The representative explained how the patron had “no respect” for Claude Makelele, generally regarded as one of Madrid’s most important players during the height of their ‘Galacticos’ period between 2000 and 2003, and did not keep Samuel Eto’o “due to the colour of his skin”.

“The only disagreement [Perez] had with [Carlo] Ancelotti was about [Gareth] Bale. He thinks Bale is the best player in the world,” he remarked to AS.

“He doesn’t know how to care for the Ballon d’Or winner [Cristiano Ronaldo] he already has. Bale will play where he wants.

“In addition, his favourite No 9 is [Karim] Benzema, plus he sold [Gonzalo] Higuain and [Angel] di Maria.

“[Vicente] del Bosque wasn’t so bad. He’s won everything but looks like me. He brought in a handsome Coach [Carlos Queiroz], and he almost ruined the team.

“He showed [Claude] Makelele a lack of respect. Florentino doesn’t like black players.

“He’s not racist, but he doesn’t like them and doesn’t want them.

“I also fought for [Samuel Eto’o]. I said he was a Galactico like [Luis] Figo, but [Perez didn’t sign him] due to the colour of his skin.”
