Capello leaves Russia post

Former Real Madrid Coach Fabio Capello has left his position as boss of the Russian national team, it has been confirmed.

The Italian, who had two spells at the helm of Los Blancos, accepted his most recent job in 2012 and led the country to the 2014 World Cup finals.

However, Russia’s Group Stage exit in Brazil followed by subsequent poor results in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign led to his position being called into question.

Now, it has been made official that Capello, who has won two La Liga titles, will leave his post. According to reports, he will receive compensation of around €21m following the termination of a contract that ran until 2018.
