Real Betis have completed the permanent signing of Cristiano Piccini from Fiorentina on a four-year contract, with La Viola retaining two repurchase options.
The Italian right-back spent last season on loan with Los Verdiblancos, helping the side return to La Liga at the first time of asking as champions.
Consequently, Eduardo Macia – the former Fiorentina technical director who is now Betis’ sporting director – has brokered a permanent deal for the 23-year-old, although his previous employers can buy him back at the end of the next two seasons.
However, the fee paid by Betis to Fiorentina, along with those for the repurchase options, have not been disclosed.
