Andres Iniesta has welcomed Barcelona’s reported interest in Arda Turan and Paul Pogba after expressing his admiration for the pair.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder is understood to be closing in on a move to Barca, pending approval from the club’s executive board, while presidential candidates Josep Maria Bartomeu and Joan Laporta have publicly expressed their desire to land the Juventus star.
“It’s important [that Luis Enrique is staying]. The work and results have been very good,” the 31-year-old told reporters.
“We have enough motivation to keep winning trophies. In the final part of the season, I had a good feeling and I hope everything continues the same.
“[Arda’s] a great player with spectacular talent and quality. When he finally arrives, he’ll be welcomed. Anything that improves the team is always important.
“[On comparisons with Xavi Hernandez], they are different players. Arda didn’t play in that position for Atletico but has the characteristics to play inside.
“He’s a midfielder who combines play very well and understands the game well, but we’ll see what happens.
“[Pogba] is a player that all great teams would like to have on their team. He’s still young, talented and has the strength to play at the top level.
“[The Neymar red-card saga] is perhaps not such a big deal. He’s received a lot [of flak], but everything is learned to correct mistakes.
“Almost no-one thought we could win a second treble and almost no-one thinks we can win all six trophies, but we have the team to do it.”
