Nuno Santo is reportedly pushing for a change in the Valencia structure and wants sporting director Rufete replaced by Ruben Baraja.
Marca claims Nuno no longer feels he can work with Rufete and has made his opinion known to owner Peter Lim.
Nuno and Rufete recently met and the conversation is described by Marca as ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back,’ although it is noted there has been discord for some time.
The situation first reared up in January but was smoothed over by Lay Hoon, one of Lim’s associates.
Nuno is said to have pointed to Baraja, the former Che midfielder now Coach of the club’s youth team, as an ideal replacement, although it’s not known if Baraja would take the position.
Baraja is known to have aspirations as a Coach and may be reluctant to shelve them to become Valencia’s new sporting director.
