Line-ups: Spain-Costa Rica

Barcelona new boy Aleix Vidal makes his Spain debut in tonight’s friendly with World Cup quarter-finalists Costa Rica.

Vicente del Bosque opts for a 4-3-3 formation, which begins with David de Gea in goal, protected by a defence of Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Marc Bartra and Juan Bernat from right to left.

In the middle of the park, Mikel San Jose is entrusted with anchoring duties behind Cesc Fabregas and Koke, while Vidal and Nolito flank Valencia’s Paco Alcacer in a three-pronged attack.

Costa Rica, on the other hand, start with three La Liga-based players in Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Celso Borges and Villarreal loanee Joel Campbell.

La Roja’s form since the World Cup has been patchy at best, with only four wins in the eight games that have followed, including their previous 2-0 defeat to Netherlands.
