Report: Casillas to leave Madrid

Iker Casillas is reportedly ready to leave Real Madrid in order to make the arrival of David De Gea a smooth transition.

AS cites a story from TVE that claims De Gea will be confirmed as a Madrid player in the next few days and Casillas has agreed to clear the decks for the Manchester United custodian.

Madrid will to their utmost to give Casillas the send-off his stature calls for and there’s not expected to be any concern over money as both parties are of the same mind.

Should Casillas’ new club pay him less than he would receive by staying at Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid would make up the difference for the next two years.

Casillas is said to have 10 offers from other clubs on the table, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce mentioned specifically, and the Spain international has no intention of playing outside Europe.

David Alonso, a reporter speaking to SER, is quoted as saying ‘Casillas is closer to leaving than staying.’
