Atletico Madrid and Villarreal have reportedly settled on a fee of €22m for forward Luciano Vietto, who is getting closer to Vicente Calderon.
AS say that the clubs have agreed the cost of the transfer after Atletico baulked at meeting the player’s release clause.
Vietto could escape El Madrigal for €20m but when taxes are taken into account, the cost rises to closer to €30m.
Atletico approached the Yellow Submarine with an alternative proposal and Villarreal are said to have agreed the deal is in their interests.
Vietto is now said to be very close to moving to the capital although it is not yet definite. Villarreal Coach Marcelino does however want the transfer completed quickly, so the club can put together their squad for the new season.
