Andres Iniesta has been ruled out of Spain’s upcoming matches against Costa Rica and Belarus with a muscle strain.
The midfielder had been a doubt heading into the Champions League final on Saturday but lasted over three quarters of the Berlin spectacle as Barcelona defeated Juventus 3-1.
However, La Roja have now confirmed to the Spanish media that the 31-year-old suffered a relapse of his previous knock and has been released from the squad.
Spain play Costa Rica in international friendly action on Thursday, before travelling to Borisov for their Euro 2016 qualifier with Belarus three days later.
