Barcelona have stepped back from their pursuit of Villarreal’s Luciano Vietto, clearing the way for Atletico Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barca have decided against making a signing in attack and Atletico are the favourites for the Argentine’s signature.
Diego Simeone’s side face competition from Inter and Tottenham Hotspur, the Catalan publication claims, while Villarreal have also put a contract renewal on the table.
The proposed deal would double Vietto’s release clause to €40m but it’s believed the offer from Atletico is leading the way.
