Eric Abidal is under no doubt that Barcelona should retain Dani Alves, warning the club are ‘lucky to have him.’
Alves is expected to depart Camp Nou at the end of the season, particularly after a scathing Press conference in which he laid bare the situation.
Abidal, a former teammate of the Brazil right-back, however is clearly of the mind that Barca need to work harder to keep Alves.
“If Dani goes, Barca have lost a great person and an enormous player,” he warned, Marca reports.
“He proved this season he is at a high level. Barca have to keep players like him. They’re lucky to have him and have to take this opportunity.”
