Diego Simeone stressed his Atletico Madrid players cannot afford to relax during the run-in to the end of the season.
The Argentine saw his team earn a 1-0 win over Villarreal at El Madrigal thanks to a second-half goal from substitute Fernando Torres, although he felt the win was down to the introduction from the bench of Raul Garcia, Torres and Saul.
“It was a good game and in the second half we had the chances to have hurt our opponents,” Simeone told a Press conference.
“Either side could have opened the scoring and that was something that conditioned the match, although the key was to keep on trying.
“We looked strong but with the arrival of our substitutes we took a step forward and Torres took his goal well. We are happy both with him and the rest of the players.
“Even so, we have to win all our remaining games. None of the teams at the top can afford to relax,” he warned.
