Depor must move on admits Victor

Deportivo la Coruna boss Victor Sanchez said his team must move on to the next game following the 4-0 thrashing at Elche.

Goals from Jonathas, David Lomban, Mario Pasalic and Garry Rodrigues eased the home side’s relegation fears but ensured the Galicians remain firmly entrenched in the bottom three.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Victor conceded Elche had been far superior and insisted his players must now look ahead to Saturday’s home game with Villarreal.

“We have to congratulate our opponents because they were better than us in everything they did,” said the 39-year-old.

“The two early goals made it very difficult, although we took a risk by playing three defenders and sometimes it can backfire on you, and that is what happened.

“I’m not going to draw any conclusions until I’ve had the chance to watch the match again but I know the players are disappointed. Sport can be like that and there are times when you have good feelings and bad.

“Right now the only thing we can do is to turn the page and think about our next fixture against Villarreal.”
