Espanyol Coach Sergio Gonzalez insists he won’t discuss the team’s chances of making Europe even after beating Athletic Bilbao.
Sergio Garcia scored the only goal of the game to take Los Periquitos to 41 points but speaking after the match, the Coach stressed the need to focus.
“We’re not going to change the discussion or talk about Europe,” he said, AS reports.
“I am very happy. We have done great things in a week with three games, which was very complicated, very demanding. We’re left with a feeling of hard work, desire and attitude.
“We knew the results would come. We need to rest and recover, with heads held high from this game, and then think about the next game.
“I feel a great joy but the assessments [of the season] will come at the end of the campaign.”
