La Roja back to 10th in FIFA rankings

Spain have returned to 10th in the FIFA world rankings thanks to their Euro 2016 qualifer victory over Ukraine.

La Roja dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since 2007 last month but took advantage of France’s defeat to Brazil and Italy’s downturn in fortunes.

Belgium climb to third for the first time in their history, relegating Colombia to fourth, and now sit behind world champions Germany and runners-up Argentina.

Brazil, meanwhile, replace Holland in fifth due to the Dutch drawing in Turkey, with Switzerland also among the top 10 ahead of Spain.
