Gerard Pique has reminded Spain’s critics that “we’ve lost friendlies and ended up winning titles” in wake of their 2-0 defeat to Netherlands.
La Roja failed to make amends for their heavy loss to the Oranje in the group stage at last summer’s World Cup as they were made to pay for a slow start during Tuesday’s friendly at Amsterdam ArenA.
“We didn’t have a bad game. We paid for two early errors,” the defender said after the match.
“I don’t give any importance to this result. We’ve lost friendlies and ended up winning titles.
“The team’s attitude is positive. We’ve been experimenting and have to keep improving.”
