Line-ups: Netherlands-Spain

Spain hand a debut to Juanmi for tonight’s friendly against Netherlands, which kicks off at 19:45 BST.

The Malaga striker – a late replacement for the unfit Diego Costa – has been rewarded for his fine form since the turn of the year by being named La Roja's No 9 for the trip to Amsterdam ArenA this evening.

Elsewhere, Vicente del Bosque rings a number of changes from last Friday’s 1-0 victory over Ukraine in Euro 2016 qualifying, with David de Gea, Dani Carvajal, Raul Albiol, Juan Bernat, Mario Suarez and Pedro Rodriguez among those introduced.

However, Premier League duo Cesc Fabregas and Santi Cazorla are arguably the biggest newcomers, the Chelsea midfielder claiming earlier this week that he wanted a chance to prove he could still be a talisman for Spain.

Both countries find themselves under pressure to perform after disappointing recent performances, although it is Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink – appointed only last summer – who reportedly has the most to lose.

Their last meeting resulted in an emphatic 5-1 win for the Dutch in the first match of the group stage at the 2014 World Cup, an outcome La Roja will be keen to avoid repeating.

Spain: De Gea; Carvajal, Albiol, Pique, Bernat; Cesc, Mario, Isco; Cazorla, Juanmi, Pedro

Referee: Collum [SCO]
