Madrid attackers face sanctions

The three supporters who attacked the cars of Gareth Bale and Jese Rodriguez, among other Real Madrid players, are facing fines and stadium bans.

The incident occurred in the aftermath of Los Blancos' 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in last weekend's Clasico, when the club's players and coaches collected their cars from Valdebebas in the early hours of March 23.

According to Spain's Sports Council (CSD), Madrid filed a report to Spain's Anti-Violence Commission, requesting it “apply those sanctions that it considers appropriate”.

Consequently, fines of up to €3,001 and six-month stadium bans have been proposed by the commission for the three individuals, one of which was a Madrid member and had his privileges temporarily revoked.

A number of Madrid players received verbal abuse from the unruly fans, including Coach Carlo Ancelotti and Sergio Ramos, but Bale and Jese suffered the most as their cars were also attacked.
