Alcaraz: Levante display ‘acceptable’

Levante boss Lucas Alcaraz said his team’s performance in the 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid was ‘acceptable’ despite the loss.

Two goals from Gareth Bale put paid to Levante’s hopes at the Santiago Bernabeu but Alcaraz was not too disappointed with his team’s performance.

“I had the feeling when the game ended that we could have scored a goal and we caused them some problems,” he told a Press conference.

“We wanted to play our own game, although we didn’t create enough chances, but we tried to compete. I didn’t like the first 20 minutes but the rest was acceptable.

“You never know if it’s psychological or the fact we were not decisive in front of goal.”

Alcaraz also commented on his decision to play two strikers at the Bernabeu.

“Having two up front is something we’ve worked on and our team is set up to play like that. We are not going to change it just because of who we are up against.”
