Sammir has confirmed he is to leave Getafe for a move to China, following former Coach Cosmin Contra and midfielder Michel.
It had been mooted that the Croatia international would leave El Geta for Jiangsu Sainty and AS say the deal will go ahead for a €5m fee.
“I’m going to China. It’s happened stupidly fast and left me puzzled at first. It’s exciting to know that your work is appreciated,” Sammir wrote in an Instagram post.
“I want to thank Getafe for everything in this wonderful year and for all the support and the opportunity.
“I want to thank the fans that have supported me throughout this time. It was a great experience. I want a good end to the season for everyone and to achieve a lot.”
Contra and Michel left in January, signing for Guangzhou, in a €4.9m deal.
Sammir’s departure reportedly led Quique Sanchez Flores – who replaced Contra on the bench – to quit the club, his resignation announced on Thursday.
