Diego Simeone has confirmed Atletico Madrid will field Mario Mandzukic, Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres against Celta Vigo.
The Coach told his pre-match Press conference that in the absence of Koke and Arda Turan, both suspended, he would look to his squad for other options.
Cholo added that the versatility of Griezmann presented a number of possibilities for how the team will line up, offering few specifics prior to the fixture.
“We know what we lose with Arda and Koke [being suspended] – creativity and talent,” he said, AS reports.
“We’ll vary things to play differently. The absence of them, and Raul Garcia, creates a group effort to counteract these absences.
“To compete in the best way you need a squad, not just a team. The team used to win some games.
“The players are working to take advantage of the opportunities that arise. I hope it goes well.
“We’ll look at how we can play against Celta with Griezmann, Torres and Mandzukic. We can play many variations. 4-3-1-2, 4-3-3, 4-3-2-1 or 4-4-2.
“They’re the options we have win Griezmann, who can play wide or in attack as he did for us against Real Madrid.
“We would have Mandzukic and Griezmann with Torres to the right. Let’s see how we go.”
