Real Madrid have announced the signing of Martin Odegaard from Stromsgodset for an undisclosed fee.
The 16-year-old's move to the Santiago Bernabeu had been speculated earlier in the week, but a statement on Los Blancos' official website has now confirmed the news.
“Real Madrid CF and Stromsgodset have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Martin Odegaard,” it reads.
“After undergoing the relevant medical examinations, the player will be presented to the media, accompanied by the Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueno, at 13:30 [CET] on January 22 in the Ciudad Real Madrid press room.”
Odegaard, an attacking midfielder who became Norway's youngest-ever senior international in August, reportedly picked Madrid over the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
