The Norwegian media are today claiming that Martin Odegaard has decided to join Real Madrid.
The 16-year-old has been linked with a move to a top European club since becoming the youngest-ever player to debut for Norway at senior level.
Now, according to Drammes Tidende, they have received confirmation that the midfielder plans to continue his development at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Odegaard’s club Stromsgodset and Los Blancos are expected to begin negotiations as soon as Monday evening, although no problems are anticipated.
However, the Norwegian side will only fetch around €2m for the teenager’s services as his current contract expires at the end of this year.
The news outlet also reports a villa in the Spanish capital awaits Odegaard’s family and that his father Hans Erik will be given a job at the club.
Madrid are believed to have beaten off competition from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich for Odegaard’s signature.
