Eduardo Berizzo struggled to offer answers to why Celta Vigo lost at home to Almeria on Friday evening.
Tomer Hemed scored what proved to be the only goal of the game at Balaidos and Berizzo said after the match that his team were doubly at fault.
“It’s a difficult game to explain because they scored from our mistake and we weren’t able to take our chances, including a penalty,” the Coach commented, according to AS.
“When you don’t score and your mistakes translate into goals, in the end the game, that’s just how it is.
“The team is hurt. The punishment is too much. They hardly had a shot on goal and took three points. Unfortunately, football is being unfair to us.
“We’re going through a time when everything we do wrong turns into a goal against us. It’s can’t be that you fight for 90 minutes and in one play the game is gone. We have to be stronger because the errors are costing us too much.”
Berizzo concluded that despite the result he is ‘happy’ with the squad, described their attitude as ‘commendable’ and the effort they put in ‘huge,’ and said the Christmas break would be used to ‘correct’ the errors they’re making.
