Emery: We did everything but score

Sevilla boss Unai Emery claimed his team did everything but put the ball in the net in the disappointing scoreless home draw with Eibar.

“I have to congratulate the players and the fans for what they did in this match because this team has grown and did all it could,” he told a post-match Press conference.

“We knew it would be difficult against Eibar as they are a tough team to play and they did well, particularly their goalkeeper who was very good, while they also defended well and closed things down.

“We had to be careful when they counter-attacked and we wanted to reach 32 points at this stage of the season, although 30 is still a good figure.

“Even so, I think we still have players who cannot maintain a high level of concentration, because some are more pro-active than others, and we’ll need to improve in 2015.

“The Copa del Rey will be exciting for us and also the Europa League, where we’ll be keeping an eye on who we draw on Monday, although right now my players need to rest,” he concluded.
