Marcelino has hailed Villarreal's capture of Leo Suarez, describing the Argentine teenager as 'a terrific prospect'.
The Yellow Submarine announced this week that they agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old from Boca Juniors for a fee in the region of €2m, although the midfielder will initially join up with the club's B team.
"He's a young lad who's decided to join us," he said at a Press conference ahead of his side's Europa League's encounter with Apollon Limassol on Thursday.
"He won't be an immediate addition to the squad, but we expect him to become a terrific player and consolidate himself in Villarreal's first team."
Looking ahead to Villarreal's trip to Cyprus, Marcelino urged his players not to fall for their opponents' failure to qualify for the knockout stages, demanding no less than three points.
"If both teams had something to play for, it'd be a harder match," he continued "Still, the fact they can't progress mustn't preoccupy us. It would be a grave error.
"Our idea is to view the match as a final, with the sole intention of a victory. We will use any means necessary to end the group stage with a win."
