Adriano: Barca need time

Adriano has insisted Barcelona need time if they are to enjoy success this season, while adding that his side need to implement variety in their game.

La Blaugrana came into 2014-15 with a new Coach in Luis Enrique and an influx of new additions, but consecutive defeats in La Liga, including the Clasico, as well as a loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League have piled the pressure on the Catalan club’s regime.

“We know there is a period of adaptation, with the new coaching staff and players arriving, but sometimes football doesn't have the patience to wait for you,” he admitted to AS.

“I think with what we're doing, our work, desire and confidence we have in the Coach and vice versa will soon begin to clear any doubts for us. The good performances and results will come.

“We know that in some games we haven't been good enough, and we haven't had either that spark or perhaps the face in front of goal.

“Against Celta Vigo, with the chances we created and the game we played…

“Sometimes the football isn't enough in order to have a great game. Sometimes you just lose matches by conceding goals from things that happen.

“Football is like that. We understand that opponents hesitate to press us and because of that, the results don't come. This is inevitable.

“The League is not a [a two-horse race] between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Valencia have a good team, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also having very good campaigns, and there are many more teams that require us to be at 100% if we want to beat them."

Next up for Barca are Sevilla, a team who Adriano knows very well, having represented the Andalusian outfit before joining the Catalan giants four years ago.

“Sevilla are a tough team, a team that has been reinforced very well over the past two years,” he added.

“They have let go of many players and signed as many, and now I think the players are getting to know each other.

“They also have young players, and with the good work of the Coach, they'll surely be fighting for the League, so for us it's a tough match, as it always has been."
