Barcelona are concerned Thomas Vermaelen is not recovering from his hamstring injury and there is talk an operation will be required.
Vermaelen moved to Barca from Arsenal over the summer but has yet to feature for La Blaugrana after suffering an injury representing Belgium at the World Cup.
AS reports that Vermaelen’s history of injuries mean that since 2009, he has spent more than 400 days on the sidelines with 24 injuries.
Rumours around Barcelona suggest Vermaelen will go under the knife as a last resort to discover why his hamstring injury isn’t clearing up, as there is no date in mind for his return to action.
