Age Hareide has warned Atletico Madrid not to expect an easy ride when his Malmo team take on the Spanish champions on Tuesday.
The Swedes went down 5-0 to Diego Simeone’s men at the Vicente Calderon in their Champions League Group A clash two weeks ago, their biggest European defeat in 44 years, but Hareide says Malmo will be no pushovers on their home ground.
“We can beat anyone at home and we haven’t lost there in Europe for three years. Also, we haven’t conceded in continental competition at our stadium for eight games and our fans really get behind us,” he told Marca.
The former Manchester City and Norwich City defender says Malmo still have ambitions of qualifying for the next stage themselves.
“If Juventus beat Olympiacos then we’ll still be in the running but first we must do the business against Atletico,” he declared.
