Celta Vigo Coach Eduardo Berizzo wants his players to maintain their usual approach to games when facing Barcelona tomorrow.
Berizzo acknowledged at his pre-match Press conference that it isn’t easy to play at Camp Nou but believes keeping faith with their principles is crucial.
“We will try and press as high as possible without losing our identity, and take possession of the ball,” he said, AS reports.
“We have to be faithful to our ideas and consistent with what we do with the ball at a ground where almost no one gets anything.
“Getting possession of the ball takes you closer to victory. If you just defend the game is eternal, very long, against a team that has many resources to overwhelm you at any time.
“But it is very difficult to win the ball and even more so against Barcelona.”
Berizzo was asked about the prospect of man-marking Lionel Messi but dismissed the idea as counter-productive.
“We would need more than one player to mark him,” he replied.
“The equation wouldn’t be very good for us.”
