Claudio Bravo believes Barcelona could have beaten Real Madrid in El Clasico but Los Blancos’ counter-attacks were too good.
Neymar gave Barca the lead but Cristiano Ronaldo equalised from the penalty spot before half-time and Pepe and Karim Benzema netted in the second half.
Bravo told reporters post-match that the Catalans felt they had enough to win but they weren’t able to live with Madrid’s speed on the break.
“We feel like we could have won. We started the match well and got a goal in our favour,” he said, according to AS.
“But the penalty changed the game. We weren’t able to take control in the second half and then Madrid went in front, and then sat back. It was more difficult.”
Bravo added that he was pleased with his individual performance but admitted it means little in light of the result.
“I felt good, very good, but it’s a bitter taste,” he said.
