Suarez ‘amazed’ by La Masia

Luis Suarez has waxed lyrical about the youth set-up at Barcelona, claiming he wishes he had been part of La Masia.

Suarez moved to Camp Nou this summer and is yet to make a competitive debut as he serves the last of his four-month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

He will be free from suspension in time for the Clasico against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu at the end of this month.

Suarez told an interview that he was deeply impressed with the facilities open to the youngsters and admitted they are far in advance of what he had when he came through at Nacional.

“I’m impressed and amazed by La Masia. I wish I had been able to develop like this,” he said, Marca reports.

“I like the spaces they have to develop the children all-round, in their studies, their diets and their schedules.

“I was surprised by everything, especially the way the children they have are. I wish I had the chance to develop somewhere like here.”
