Bale ‘not feeling the pressure’

Gareth Bale says he does not feel under any extra pressure when playing for Wales, despite injuries to key players.

The Real Madrid star has linked up with the Welsh squad ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifiers with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cyprus in Cardiff, and Chris Coleman’s team has already been rocked by the news that both Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen have been ruled out.

However, Bale says he is looking forward to the games.

“I don’t feel under any more pressure. I want to go out and do the best for my country. That’s all I can do,” Bale told the BBC.

“These are massive games for us but firstly we must concentrate on Friday’s game [against Bosnia] and not think of anything else, not even the next game.

“We just need to focus on that and hopefully get the win. It’s a big blow [losing Ramsey and Allen] as they are two fantastic players.

“But we have players that can come in and do a good job for us and I’m looking forward to the game,” he declared.

Bale was named Welsh Footballer of the Year for a record fourth time on Monday.
