Casillas content with rotation

Iker Casillas has no complaints if Carlo Ancelotti chooses to rotate his goalkeepers after returning to the Real Madrid XI.

Casillas took the gloves from Keylor Navas for the 2-0 win over Villarreal, having sat out the midweek thumping of Elche.

“Football has changed, of course we have to get used to rotations,” Casillas said after the win at El Madrigal, AS reports.

“It’s important that whenever the Coach wants you it’s because he’s convinced the team will win with that decision.

“It’s interesting. We’re all on alert and not relaxing.

“Game-by-game? That slogan’s already taken. We’ll think about the matches but in a different way.”

On the subject of the most recent match, Casillas felt was pleased with the game’s progression.

“It was a difficult start but the team was strong and even though we had to suffer, we were together so the suffering was less,” he continued.

“We had been conceding goals in almost every game and this time we kept a clean sheet, which is always a positive.

“There was a bit more control than in other games. It was a strange back-and-forth against Deportivo La Coruna and I think we learned the lessons from then.

“We ensured there wasn’t a repeat of Anoeta. We didn’t give away many chances and we didn’t suffer too much. They’re two important premises.”
