Iker Casillas is expected to be in the Real Madrid goal when Los Blancos travel to El Madrigal to play Villarreal on Saturday.
Marca reports the captain will replace Keylor Navas, who was given his Madrid debut in the midweek win over Elche.
Casillas could retain his place for the Champions League game against Ludogorets in midweek.
Marca add that the Madrid staff have not determined Casillas is the long-term first-choice, however, and a change is possible, with Navas being tested against Elche.
Casillas had been picked as the first-choice but his early season form and the Madrid fans’ negative response to him has thrown that status into doubt.
Navas was given a game at Santiago Bernabeu in part to improve the atmosphere at home, it’s claimed, and will receive more games as the season goes on.
