Athletic Bilbao are to offer new contracts to Aritz Aduriz and Gorka Iraizoz with their current deals to expire in 2015.
AS reports that it’s felt Aduriz is in the best form of his career and a fresh deal will be agreed as he intends to see out his playing days at San Mames.
Aduriz’s form led to suggestions he would be named in the Spain squad by Vicente Del Bosque but the Coach chose younger players than the 33-year-old.
It’s possible that Athletic offer Aduriz a contract that extends year by year depending on games played or goals scored.
Iraizoz is also 33 but AS note that’s considered relatively young for a goalkeeper and he will be offered a new deal based on his form over the last year.
He has become the undisputed first choice at Athletic after a difficult time under Marcelo Bielsa and will be offered a new contract accordingly.
