Gracia: Sending off changed the game

Javi Gracia has insisted that Sergi Darder’s sending off changed the game as his Malaga side were beaten 3-0 by Valencia.

Paco Alcacer, Dani Parejo and Pablo Piatti all scored for Los Che, but the Costa del Sol outfit’s Coach has claimed that the defender’s red card on 27 minutes was the defining moment,

“The sending off changed the match,” he told reporters.

“Before this moment we maintained good control of the rival and generated numerous goal opportunities.

“Analysing the match, I think we were unfairly treated – we scored a perfectly legal goal and the sending off was misplaced.

“We’re now looking forward and I congratulate my players for tonight’s game.

“The merits of my team – we created a number of goal chances.

“I have a lot of respect for the rival, they scored their goals and deserve the credit.”
